This piece went through a whole mess of versions before becoming finalised, and it wasn't a smooth journey either. the original version was hell of a lot different from this one as it was coloured in my more traditional way (something along the lines of my Tager and Kokonoe piece). But no matter how I rendered it, I couldn't cover up the fact that I completely screwed up on the composition. And the painting style just wasn't working for the type of image that it was.

It was like trying to tart up a dead horse: It's still a dead horse and its gonna end up at the glue factory anyway.

So I took a step back and really focused on what I was gonna draw and do with the colours. I realised that I was thinking way to hard on it and decided to simplify everything.

From composition to detail to colours I simplified it all and I ended up with something that has a very western comic book art feel to it. A far cry different from my usual hand painted manga no?
